Dynapac SD2500CS, laying it down around Essen
A brand new 206 Dynapac SD2500CS tracked paver is building a bypass road around the town of Essen (Oldenburg) in northwest Germany.

Traffic has to pass through the town centre, leading to traffic jams and unsafe situations. A bypass road will relieve the town centre of this traffic and will increase the comfort of living in the city centre.

The old B68 highway is a narrow two-lane street, where, according to residents, two trucks struggle to pass each other.

The SD2500CS is being run with a V6000TVH variable screed. The V6000TVH high compaction screed is designed to meet the demands for higher pre-compaction behind the screed.

The SD2500CS is one of three machines bought by customer Dallmann to replace their fleet of other Dynapac machines.

The SD2500CS is working with extension boxes of up to 9m. Also, two 1228 Moba big ski systems have installed for levelling.

After environmental studies and planning approval, work started on the 4km project in 2012 and is expected to be finished in October. The new 2-lane road is around 8m wide with some sections reaching 14.25m.

Other machines that have been used include three rollers – a pneumatic roller, the 14tonne 228 Hamm HD 150 T and two 10tonne 172 Bomag BW 174 AP-4.
