Digitalisation, environmental sustainability, innovation, technologies for reusing materials and professional training. These are the main themes of the first Paving Show and Congress scheduled for March next year ahead of SaMoTer, the main international event in May 2026.

The Paving Show and Congress, at Veronafiere March 12-13, is specifically for operators in the road paving sector. Entrance will be free if attendees register before the event. The exhibition will be a  preview for the debut of the event within the scope of the 32nd SaMoTer Show set for May 6-9, 2026.

The show organisers says the first edition of Paving Show at Veronafiere goes well beyond the technical aspects underlying innovation. Ihe event will off exhibitors and professional visitors direct contacts with institutions and public administrations, associations and organisations representing the world of construction. This will facilitate the growth of a strategic sector in terms of mobility, transport, internationalisation, trade, improvement of infrastructure and the quality of life in urban, industrial and rural areas.

"Paving Show will not only explore aspects associated with equipment, raw materials, technologies and services for road paving," said Maurizio Danese, managing director of Veronafiere. "It also aims to strengthen networking between sector operators, as well as between companies and institutions, while also responding to the need for qualified training and innovation through conferences, in-depth studies and round tables.

“In particular, two main themes will characterise the two-day event set up in the Palaexpo at Veronafiere,” he said. “Digitalisation and environmental sustainability. We are well aware of the fact that the new frontiers of the sector must involve reducing environmental impact alongside opportunities that innovation, new technologies and artificial intelligence have to offer."

Veronafiere's well-established strong point lies in the status of SaMoTer as the reference show, now at its 32nd edition, and the event's partnerships with institutions and associations. These include:

ANCE - Italian Association of Private Construction Contractors;

UNACEA - Italian Construction Equipment Association;

CECE - Committee for European Construction Equipment;

UNEM - Association of companies in the processing, logistics and distribution of petroleum products and low-carbon energy products, including biofuels and e-fuels;

ANEPLA - Italian aggregates association;

ANAS – Italy’s national road and motorway operator;

Assodimi-Assonolo – Italy’s construction equipment rental association.

Attendance by public administrations and representative organisations in the sector is seen by exhibitors and professionals as an opportunity to share growth paths in fields such as training, bureaucratisation and the definition of regulations to promote the recovery of recyclable materials.

Who should attend? The Paving Show and Congress targets companies and professional operators in the bitumen and road asphalt sectors, in road construction companies, compaction and paving machinery operators as well as motorway and tunnel concessionaires. It will appeal to material testing laboratories, water-proofing companies, professional figures linked with construction management and road infrastructure designers and road safety operators. On the administration side, it will be interest to town and city mayors, councillors and their technical officers within public administrations.

The inaugural preview event from March 12-13 March, in particular, will give exhibitors a chance to present their innovative solutions to a market increasingly interested in optimising production processes, improving performance and increasing margins. It will allow the opportunity to involve an audience that is increasingly aware of digitalisation and environmental sustainability issues.

Veronafiere will open registrations for the next year’s inaugural Paving Show and Congress in September.
