Repaving was then carried out using a Vögele asphalt paver, with a large twin drum roller then being used to compact the surface. Asphalt paving was carried out in two layers, replacing the binder course and wearing course, although the original base course was left untouched.

The work was carried out overnight over a weekend in February 2018. With the road being closed temporarily for the work to continues. A steady flow of trucks was used to remove the milled asphalt from the site, as well as to bring fresh asphalt for use in the resurfacing work. Of note was the fact that the milling and repaving job was carried out in cold temperatures, with the compaction work having to be carried out very quickly to ensure the surface could meet the required specification.
