Kazakhstan boosts road repair budget

Kazakhstan is increasing the budget allotted for road repairs in the west of the country. The country’s government plans to allot some US$110 million (ZT 20 billion) for road repairs in West Kazakhstan. This sum will be used to fund repairs from 2014 until 2016.

    Russia is setting out plans for development of its transport network, with road construction and maintenance amongst the areas being prioritised. The new plan will run from 2016-2021 and has been established by the Transport Ministry. In all the country intends to spend close to US$90 billion developing transportation.     Regional roads in Russia look set for a revamp during 2015. Some US$6.64 billion will be spent on Russia’s regional roads, according to the Rador association. This compares against the $5.8 billion spent on repairs and revamping of Russia’s regional roads in 2014.
