Kazakhstan boosts road repair budget

Kazakhstan is increasing the budget allotted for road repairs in the west of the country. The country’s government plans to allot some US$110 million (ZT 20 billion) for road repairs in West Kazakhstan. This sum will be used to fund repairs from 2014 until 2016.

The country also has a strategy of supporting private investment in transport through lower interest rates on loans for PPPs, providing partial funding from central government for local road safety

    Moscow’s ring road is due for rebuilding – Eugene Gerden writes. The Moscow city authorities have finalised the project of the reconstruction of the Moscow Ring Road. The ring road encircles the City of Moscow and the plan was announced by Marat Khusnullin, deputy mayor of the city. Khusnullin said that, to date, the Moscow city government has completed 90% of the design documentation of the project.
