The Algerian SAPTA construction company, who specialise in road and traffic infrastructure construction, is using a Sennebogen 2200 crawler crane to assist with their commission to build a bridge in Algiers.

2924 Sennebogen service and sales partner EURL SM Maintenance delivered the 2200 crawler crane to SAPTA in July this year. It has since been set to work lifting, piece by piece, the steel support for the 600m long Algiers-based bridge.

The crane will also be used for a range of other lifting tasks required at the construction site. Thanks to what Sennebogen describe as the 2200 model’s winching power of 170kN and quick rope speeds, even the most heavy of steel supports can be placed in precisely the right position in no time at all.

Once SAPTA has completed construction, the huge construction site will be an approach road to a new industrial area. SAPTA say the project is challenging, particularly in light of the tight schedule and stringent quality expectations.
Managers at the company are said by Sennebogen to favour one of its machine’s due to their excellent quality and reliable service provided by local sales partner, EURL SM Maintenance.

In particular, the operators have praised the day-to-day work benefits of the 2200’s spacious and comfortable maXcab cab. Sennebogen say the cab not only offers ergonomic comfort, but also a superb view and optimum safety features.

Due to its telescopic crawler unit, the 2200 is quick moving yet stable and secure when on terrain. SAPTA is extremely pleased with the performance of the machine and is full of praise for its excellent handling. Sennebogen says its 2200 machine is set to continue to play a vital role at future SAPTA construction sites.
