Developing a new range of tunnelling machines

A new agreement between Volvo and Sweden's CeDe Group will see a new range of tunneling machines coming to the market.

A deal between Volvo and Swedish firm CeDe will see the specialist company building tunnelling versions of Volvo excavators

A new agreement between Volvo and Sweden's CeDe Group will see a new range of tunneling machines coming to the market.

Under the deal, 2394 Volvo will supply part-manufactured machines which 2694 CeDe will then adapt to meet the specialist requirements of the tunneling industry.

Available first in Finland, Denmark and Norway, the new specialist machines will be distributed through the Volvo Construction Equipment dealership network in Europe.

  • Colombia: PPP for motorway between Cesar and La Guajira

    In Colombia, the Council of Ministers has given official approval to a fourth public-private partnership (PPP), this time for a motorway between Cesar and La Guajira. The 350km road, costing an estimated US$151 million, will connect San Roque with Cuestecita, take four years to build and employ around 1,400 workers. It will be handled under the build, finance, operate and transfer basis and will involve upgrading and widening to six lanes a 102km section of National Highway 8 (NH-8) from Ahmedabad-Vadodara.
