Tier 4 Final power for hybrid Cat excavator

Caterpillar has updated its hybrid crawler excavator, with the launch of the 336F H, incorporating Tier 4 Final power. The company claims that fuel savings of up to 30% are possible against the standard 336F excavator, despite the C9.3 engine achieving lower fuel consumption than the previous model. The engine has an automatic speed control system that lowers rpm during low load conditions. It also comes with an ECO mode that allows operators to tailor machine performance to the application. Caterpillar's 336F H hybrid crawler excavator
178 Caterpillar has updated its hybrid crawler excavator, with the launch of the 336F H, incorporating Tier 4 Final power.

The excavator has an Electronic Standardised Programmable (ESP) hydraulic pump that integrates the machine’s two power sources, matching engine performance to the load at the time. The system also uses the CAT Swing Energy Recovery (SER) valve to capture kinetic energy from the excavator’s swing brake, storing it in nitrogen-charged accumulators. This potential energy is then available to assist the swing motor during slew acceleration, reducing the energy required from the diesel engine and saving fuel.

The 336F H has an improved cab environment with an incredibly low internal noise level of just 64.9dB(A). Air suspended and heated seats are available and an automatic climate control system maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the day.

The 336F Hybrid can be used with the CAT Connect technology suite, including Grade Control Depth and Slope, which can be factory installed. The system’s front linkage sensors provide real-time positioning, cut and fill data through the standard cab monitor. The system can be upgraded to 3D compatibility, by adding CAT’s AccuGrade GPS or Universal total Station systems.
