A frequent problem for fleet operators is created by drivers interfering with the CCTV monitors in their cabs, making them unable to show reversing or other camera images.

2662 Brigade Electronics has responded by developing a new tamper-proof model, and this means the top-of-the-range BE-870FM's software upgrade allows fleet operators to disable the driver's ability to adjust monitor settings, by locking the control panel, while retaining necessary functionality.

The flat-screen colour monitor has single, split, triple and quad screen options with four camera inputs for front, side and rear view.

"Image options can be selected via five auto trigger signals such as selecting the turn indicator or reverse gear. The monitor is plug-and-play ready to accept satellite navigation or other add-ons," says Brigade.

The company has also developed a new range of flush-mount micro-cameras with a single bolt fitting which can be mounted horizontally or vertically for greater positioning flexibility.

Brigade says that the small and compact BE-500C range can be fitted discreetly to a vehicle for a reversing view or to the front, and are the ideal solution for truck drivers who experience problems with front mirrors being knocked or broken in the truck wash.
