SaMoTer 2020 Preview: A is okay for Hyundai

Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe scooped the SaMoTer Technical Innovation Award in the Medium Wheel Loader Category with its new HL960A wheel loader.

The Stage V machine will take centre stage on the Hyundai booth at SaMoTer where, says the company, there will be a strong focus on wheel loaders, including the new HL940A and the HL955A models. The A-series machines comply with the European Stage V emission levels in this case exceeding requirements, according to the company.

The company’s crawler excavator, the new HX300ANL, will also be at SaMoTer; N stands for narrow tracks, specifically for the Italian market. Cabin space for drivers has increased by 13% and the ECO Gauge gives instant fuel efficiency feedback. You can also monitor detailed information on average, hourly and daily fuel consumption. The optional Advanced Around View Monitoring (AAVM) system gives a 360° overview of the machine’s immediate working environment. It also includes Intelligent Moving Object Detection (IMOD) technology that senses and warns the operator when people or objects come within 5m of the machine.

Entry and exit of the HX300ANL’s cab is easier because of the large doors. There is also high-performance air conditioning and the adjustable reclining air suspension seat offers lumbar support. An emergency engine stop is located at the base of the seat.

Among Hyundai’s compact excavators on display will be the 1tonne mini HX10A with full electric option. The Yanmar 3TNV70 engine is an 854cc water-cooled four-stroke indirect injection diesel, a 3-cylinder unit producing almost 10kW of power. An external hydraulic oil tank keeps oil cooler without an additional cooling system. This protects performance in high ambient temperature.

However, the HX10A can be powered by an optional electro-hydraulic unit for low noise and zero-emissions operation. Hyundai says that this makes it ideal for work indoors or in sensitive environments. The generator is simply connected to the undercarriage and has no impact on machine handling or performance, even in breaker operation.

With its slim design this little hybrid digger can operate in tight locations such as alleyways. It can even enter a building through normal doorways, thanks to a variable undercarriage. A foldable ROPS bar offers protection for operators working in narrow spaces and the extendable dozer blade allows for grading over the full width of the tracks.
