The HL757XTD-9A High Reach model version has a 3.23m dumping height and a reach of up to 1.97m. And the HL757TM-9A (ToolMaster) model with parallel mast comes with a tipping height of up to 2.84m and a top reach of 1.81m. This mast may be combined with various hydraulic quick-couplers.

A Tier 4 Interim/EU Stage IIIB 196 Cummins QSB6.7, 149kW six-cylinder engine powers the South Korean-made loader. the maximum torque of 932Nm is delivered from 1,400rpm, minimising fuel consumption. Five-speed powershift transmission with torque converter lockup starting at second gear minimizes fuel consumption. Standard on all HHI wheel loaders are various modes of operation. With three engine settings (power, standard, economy), four gearshifting programs and three torque converter modes, the HL757-9A is said to adapt perfectly to the respective application profile. As loaders in the 15tonne class are used for many hours day and night, the cabin of the new HL757-9A features an enlarged area of tinted safety glass - 17 % more compared to the previous generation. The steering column is adjustable in height and tilt to accommodate different driver sizes.

Handling and reclaiming operations often require large travelling distances. Therefore, the speed range of the HL757-9A is said by Hyundai to have been carefully designed. In first gear, the machines can travel up to 7 km/h; and in fifth gear up to 40 km/h. The modern middle-class loader has maintenance free wet disc brakes on all four wheels.

With its numerous options, the HL757-9A can be adapted to virtually any handling and loading task, such as work in ports, steel mills and recycling operations. Extras include joystick control lever with additional hydraulic functions, heated exterior mirrors, automatic reversing camera, and various air suspension seats.

With the Tier 4 interim/Stage IIIB emissions requirements due next year, further upgrades will be required for all wheeled loaders sold in Europe and North America. In the mean time manufacturers are focussing on improvements that cut cycle times, boost productivity and reduce downtime for example. From Doosan comes the DL420 wheeled loader, which takes over from the previous DL400 and is aimed at use in a range of materials-handling work. The DL420 features a 4m3 bucket and is a 22.3tonne machine that
