These include the new MG 100 articulated frame motor grader and CG 14 articulated tandem vibrating roller, along with Guidetti's CAESAR 1 and CAESAR 2 crushers.
The completely redesigned Ammann ARX generation light tandem rollers on show at Conexpo 2014 are specifically made to compact asphalt and substrates on smaller and medium-sized building sites. The ARX 16 K, ARX 26 and ARX 45 models on show in Las Vegas are among 13 different ARX models in weight categories from 1.5 to 4.8 tonnes, with working widths from 82cm to 138cm.
The addition of four towed-scraper models to the Cat product line positions Caterpillar as the leading manufacturer of hauling systems for the earthmoving industry, claims the company. The new models, TS180 and TS220 with two rear wheels and TS185 and TS225 with four rear wheels, feature an innovative, heavy-duty design and large load capacities for durable productivity in construction applications.
Innovative asphalt compaction machines are now being introduced by several of the major manufacturers, with solutions offering improved working efficiency and performance.
Three of the most innovative developments for asphalt rollers come from Dynapac, BOMAG and Hamm, although new asphalt compactors are also being introduced by other firms such as Ammann and Caterpillar.
More efficient and productive compaction solutions are coming to market shortly, Mike Woof reports. Performance and productivity remain key issues for compactor manufacturers with firms keen to maximise output from their latest units.
