The first batch of 24 5895 New Holland E245B Multifunction military green crawler excavators for the Italian Army has been given its final testing at the San Mauro Torinese plant in Italy.

New Holland Construction employees were present as well as technicians from the Testing Commission of UTT Turin, and military personnel who tested the digging performance of four excavators in the standard three-boom and the z with three different attachments: grab, hammer and bucket. The Multifunction system enables a single machine to do what would normally be the work of two different products, one with a long boom and one conventional machine, and is ideally suited for demolition work: its four-section boom enables it to work at heights up to 12.8m with 1.5tonne attachments. The machine can also be used for other type of applications in the same configuration.
