233 Hitachi is boosting its wheeled loader line with the addition of two new ZW models, the ZW140 and ZW150. These machines join the proven ZW180, ZW220, ZW250 and ZW310 and share many technical features.

High performance is claimed and the ZW140 and ZW150 are powered by powerful yet economical and durable engines, delivering 96 and 107kW respectively. Fuel consumption is reduced while productivity has been increased across a range of duties. An innovative hydrostatic drive system (HST) is fitted that is said to offer greater mobility when carrying a load as well as greater control on a gradient, when accelerating and slowing down. The two-motor HST system is said to provide high operating efficiency with good traction at low speed and a top speed of 39km/h. The HST system offers a speed selector with four speed ranges to suit the conditions and application. The traction force can be set to suit the conditions and the new models also have four work modes to suit the needs of the job, while electronic controls maximise traction and reduce tyre wear.

Other features include an ergonomic cab layout that is sound and vibration damped, good visibility, easy access for maintenance, low running costs and extended service intervals. The ZW140 tips the scales at 11tonnes and is offered with standard buckets of 1.5-2.4m³ while the ZW150 weighs 12.1tonnes and is offered with standard buckets from 1.9-2.6m³.
