717 LeeBoy is launching a series of new extraction earthmoving and utility machines manufactured at its facility in India. The firm intends to capitalise on the growing demand for construction machinery for the Indian market, as well as providing equipment for export to other developing markets. A key development from the Indian facility is the new blasthole drill rig, which is based on the undercarriage and slewing structure of its 23tonne class excavator. This features a 325 Sandvik DTH unit and is designed for single pass drilling of 152mm (6”) diameter holes to depths of 8m. Customers have a choice of two boom lengths depending on the coverage they require and the machine features a dust collection system as standard while power comes from a Tier 3 compliant diesel.The firm is also offering two backhoe loader models with engines rated at 51.5kW and 66kW and which meet Tier 3 requirements. These machines are also proving popular in markets including Abu Dhabi, Oman, Myanmar and the Philippines, as well as parts of Africa.
