Doosan launches DX160LC-5 and DX180LC-5 high track excavators

Doosan Bobcat EMEA has launched the DX160LC-5 HT and DX180LC-5 HT Stage IV compliant high track crawler excavators. They complement the company’s standard configuration DX140LC-5 14tonne and DX180LC-5 18tonne mid-range excavators. Doosan says that the DX160LC-5 HT excavator combines the upper structure from the DX140LC-5 14tonne model with an 18tonne class high track undercarriage system, increasing the ground clearance from 410mm in the DX140LC-5 to 615 mm.

Doosan’s DX160LC-5 high track
Doosan 1130 Bobcat EMEA has launched the DX160LC-5 HT and DX180LC-5 HT Stage IV compliant high track crawler excavators.

They complement the company’s standard configuration DX140LC-5 14tonne and DX180LC-5 18tonne mid-range excavators. 695 Doosan says that the DX160LC-5 HT excavator combines the upper structure from the DX140LC-5 14tonne model with an 18tonne class high track undercarriage system, increasing the ground clearance from 410mm in the DX140LC-5 to 615 mm.

Similarly, the DX180LC-5 HT is an enhanced version of the DX180LC-5, incorporating a reinforced structure and a re-engineered, high-performance braking system. This machine, too, offers the same ground clearance of 615 mm, compared to 460mm in the DX180LC-5.

They are part of Doosan’s new generation LC-5 range of machines meeting the latest Stage IV emissions regulations. Both are powered by the 299 Perkins 1204F engine, which combines reduced fuel consumption with the power and torque of larger engines with a smaller displacement. The P1204F engine provides 81.6kW in the DX160 and nearly 95kW in the DX180 at 2000 rpm.

The Perkins engine also uses an electronically controlled, high-pressure common-rail fuel system (2000 bar) – which reduces particulate matter emissions from the cylinder – and a wastegate turbocharger.

Doosan Construction Equipment has launched a Dash-3 version of its popular reduced-radius 15tonne excavator, the DX140LCR-3. Powered by a Cummins QSB4.5 Stage IIIB-compliant engine, with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF), the machine has 10% more power and 15% more torque than the previous model. Both main boom and dipper arm forces get an 8% boost, while travel speeds are increased to 5.3km/h, resulting in a claimed a 10% increase in productivity.
