1171 Shantui has now achieved full CE certification for its SD13YE model bulldozer, with this having been awarded by the German certification agency TUV Rhineland. During its prototype stage, the SD13YE was subjected to rigorous testing, after which the machine was sent to TUV Rhineland for inspection. After its own thorough inspection the agency found the SD13YE compliant with EC requirements and granted the machine the CE certification, clearing it for sale in Europe. The SD13YE is the latest in Shantui's new line of fully hydraulic bulldozers, which also includes the 75kW SD10YE and the 60kW SD08YE. The YE line of hydraulic bulldozers has been developed as part of a drive to develop sales into the western markets of Europe and North America. The firm has been working with its R&D Institute to develop its core technology, resulting in advances such as the YE line. Also new from the firm’s R&D facility is its SD32 Plus bulldozer, the first of the high performance models from the firm. Aimed at export markets the SD32 Plus offers new high quality hydraulics, an upgraded power train, improved electronic Controls and a heavy duty 196 Cummins diesel. As with other bulldozers in the range it has a large volume blade that optimises earthmoving and weighs in at 37.2tonnes in standard configuration and 41.6tonnes when fitted with its optional ripper. The company will also introduce Plus versions of the smaller SD13, SD16 and SD22 bulldozers and these will share the same improved electronics and hydraulics as the SD32 now being launched.

Meanwhile rival firm 2490 XCMG is now offering a new bulldozer for export markets in the shape of its 20tonne TY320. Power comes from a Cummins NT855-C280S10 diesel, which is rated at 169kW. The machine is offered with the choice of a straight tilt blade, a U-shaped blade or an angle blade, while the dozer is also available with a single or triple ripper system.

The TY320 is aimed at the Chinese market and also for export to markets with Tier 2/Stage II emissions requirements and is also equipped with an advanced VDO electronic monitoring system. High all round visibility is claimed for the cab, which features an ergonomic design and is fitted with a Seat that can adjust automatically for angle and height. Operator protection is provided by an independent ROPS system, while other features include military grade drive and wear parts that offer high strength, toughness and good wear resistance.
