CHETRA's ambitious Indian plans

Russian construction equipment manufacturer CHETRA, part of Machinery and Industrial Group (M&IG), has unveiled ambitious plans to establish a production unit in India.

Russian construction equipment manufacturer 1261 Chetra, part of Machinery and Industrial Group (M&IG), has unveiled ambitious plans to establish a production unit in India.

In the opinion of M&IG vice-president for global markets, Vladimir Lepin, organisation of the production unit will strengthen the Russian producer's position not only in India, but in the whole South-East Asia region. Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea are said to have already shown a "special interest" in CHETRA machines.

Today the company offers dozers, pipe layers; wheel loaders, various types of special equipment for pipeline cleaning, priming, heating and Insulation works as well as excavators, which have been imported into India since 1999.

"By the end of 2015 the number of yearly produced machines will have reached 200", said Lepin at the presentation of the project at the recent bC India show in Mumbai.
