Operator comfort, improved durability and easier maintenance head the list of new features on 178 Caterpillar’s extensively redesigned M318F and M320F Wheeled Excavators. But they retain the best features of predecessor models, including the Cat Smartboom, ride control, load-sensing hydraulics, dedicated swing pump, hydraulically driven cooling fan, large working envelope and configuration/work-tool versatility. They have a new ROPS-compliant operator's cab and also offer as standard a rearview camera housed in the redesigned counterweight as well as a right-side camera with a separate in-cab monitor. Entering and exiting the cab is now easier with redesigned access steps, door and handrail. The left-hand console tilts to make entering and exiting the cabin easier.
