Caterpillar is now offering its new GC S Series top-mount, hydraulic, silenced hammers. The firm says that its H115 GC S, H120 GC S, H130 GC S, and H140 GC S models are specifically designed for use with hydraulic excavators weighing from 13-40tonnes. 178 Caterpillar is now offering its new GC S Series top-mount, hydraulic, silenced hammers. The firm says that its H115 GC S, H120 GC S, H130 GC S, and H140 GC S models are specifically designed for use with hydraulic excavators weighing from 13-40tonnes.


The firm says that the new GC S Series models combine high power-to-weight ratios with simple design. The units are said to be robust, reliable and easy to maintain, suiting duties in general construction, demolition and quarrying. Caterpillar-designed hydraulic kits are available to provide an exact hammer-to-machine fit for Cat models, for optimum performance

Key Features include a gas-fired operating cycle, an automatic shut-off providing protection against blank-firing, a reduced operating noise package, auto-lube options, a top-mount, a high-pressure accumulator as standard and a stroke adjuster.

The H115 GC S weighs 1.33tonnes and suits carriers from 13-18tonnes, while the H120 GC S weighs 1.78tonnes and suits carriers from 18-25tonnes. The H130 GC S weighs 2.5tonnes and suits carriers from 25-32tonnes, while the H140 GC S weighs 3.1tonnes and suits carriers from 30-40tonnes.
