Ammann soil compactors for Indian road building project

Compaction machines from Ammann are proving beneficial for a major road project underway in India. A number of ARS 121 soil compactors are being used for an enormous, high-profile roadbuilding project.

High performance from Ammann’s ARS 121 soil compactor is helping delivery of an important Indian road project

The compactors are being used to bring the earthmoving portion of the project to grade on a key section of the 354km Purvanchal Expressway. This project is currently the longest single road construction project in India. The soil compaction work is being handled by Ms Regal Enterprises, a subcontractor of Ms GR Infra.

The subcontractor was impressed with the performance of the first ARS 121 compactor it began using for the job. As a result, Ammann has since delivered additional units to carry out more work on the expressway project.

According to the subcontractor, the Ammann units have proven more fuel-efficient, deliver better compaction effectiveness and are easier to control than competing units used previously. In addition, firm says that the units feature low maintenance requirements. Using these machines has allowed the firm to reach compaction specifications quickly and easily, boosting overall productivity for the earthmoving portion of the project.

Once completed, the Purvanchal Expressway will provide access to capital of New Delhi via the 302km Lucknow-Agra Expressway and the 165km Agra-Greater Noida Yamuna Expressway. Also the Purvanchal Expressway will provide uninterrupted connectivity to: Lucknow; Ghazipur; Amethi; Azamgarh; Faizabad; Barabanki; Mau; Ambedkar Nagar; and Sultanpur.
