3936 Xylem has opened a new sales and service office in Panama to provide greater customer support to the developing Latin American market. The water technology company, focused on addressing the world’s most challenging water issues, says the expansion reflects its commitment to expansion within emerging markets. The company’s 3939 Flygt and 711 Godwin Pumps are already being used for the Panama Canal expansion project for dredging and construction works. Simoni Dobrowolski, managing director of Xylem’s Panama office said, “While it is a small market with a population of four million, Panama offers immense growth potential for Xylem. The expansion of the Panama Canal, extensive mining and dewatering projects as well as commercial and residential opportunities which will deliver growth within the water treatment sector mean that we see a lot of opportunity in Panama.”
