Work commencing on Vietnam’s key road building project

Work is starting on a section of the road that will connect Son La and Cam Lo in Vietnam.

This new section of road will form a stretch of Vietnam’s North-South expressway project. Building this particular stretch of road is expected to cost nearly US$326 million, with the Vietnamese Government having sourced the necessary funding for the work.

    The highways authorities in Vietnam intend to increase the percentage of roads and highways built from concrete. A pilot project will see the construction of a 25km highway link connecting the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh and Hanoi-Haiphong expressways. The Department of Planning and Investment is setting out a plan for transport project development using concrete instead of asphalt. The plan will run at least until Transport.
