Two new Russian bridges being planned

Two major new bridge projects are being planned in Russia. One bridge will span the Volga River, the other will span the Yenisei River in Siberia.

Design work for the third bridge spanning the River Volga near to Saratov will commence in 2020. The plans call for this new road bridge to be constructed close to the existing railway bridge.

Meanwhile in Siberia’s Krasnoyarsk Region, a bridge measuring over 2km is being planned. This project is expected to cost US$138 million and also involves building a new roundabout to connect the bridge road with existing roads.

The 3km bridge will form part of the road connection between Maputo, Mozambique’s capital, and Catembe. The bridge is costing over US$700 million, with much of the necessary funding being provided by the Export Import Bank of China. The new bridge will improve transport and reduce journey times for drivers, who currently have to rely on ferries travelling between Maputo and Catembe.
  • BAM wins motorway deals in The Hague and Munich

    The Dutch city of The Hague has awarded a BAM joint venture with a €300 million design, construction and maintenance contract for a 4km city road. The new connecting road will run between the motorway at the Ypenburg interchange, A4 and A13, and The Hague’s Central Zone of Binckhorst-Centrum-Scheveningen. Construction will start in mid-2016 and the road is expected to be open by early 2020. The Rotterdamsebaan will make The Hague and its immediate region better accessible by connecting the A4 /A13
