Two new Russian bridges being planned

Two major new bridge projects are being planned in Russia. One bridge will span the Volga River, the other will span the Yenisei River in Siberia.

Design work for the third bridge spanning the River Volga near to Saratov will commence in 2020. The plans call for this new road bridge to be constructed close to the existing railway bridge.

Meanwhile in Siberia’s Krasnoyarsk Region, a bridge measuring over 2km is being planned. This project is expected to cost US$138 million and also involves building a new roundabout to connect the bridge road with existing roads.

    A new bridge project is being planned in Argentina. The new link will connect Parana and Santa Fe. Rivers to be crossed between Parana and Sante Fe include the Parana River, the Colastine River and the Sante Fe River, although it is not yet clear which route will be used. The project is expected to cost from US$600-800 million. This will be included in the Argentinian Government’s 2019 budget. The tender process may commence in October 2018.     A new bridge crossing for the Lena River is being proposed in Russia. The bridge will provide a connection between Yakutsk and Nizhny Bestyakh. The bridge is expected to cost upwards of US$900 million to build, with the project likely to be offered under a concession package.
