Tunnel project in Poland

Spanish contractor OHL and Polish company Hydrobudowa are now working as a consortium on plans for a new tunnel project in Poland.

RSSSpanish contractor OHL and Polish company 3206 Hydrobudowa are now working as a consortium on plans for a new tunnel project in Poland. The project involves the construction of a new road tunnel in the city of Gdansk and, including road connections, is worth some €172.05 million. To carry out the work the consortium is ordering a new tunnel boring machine (TBM) from German supplier Herrenknecht, worth €20.80 million. Included in the TBM order is sand separation equipment, with this machinery scheduled for delivery by September 2012 at the latest.

The company is showing two of the new machine types, labelled as ‘e’ models, at the stand of its French business partner Payen.     Two new roads are now being built in Mozambique by Portuguese firm Mota Engil Engenharia. The total package is worth some US$148 million (€116 million). These two roads are the latest in a series of contracts Mota Engil Engenharia has won in Mozambique during 2010.
