The SaMoTer Innovation Award in the midi excavator category went to Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe for its KS75SR-7.

Judges praised the “very spacious cabin with a heated seat and air suspension as standard, ergonomic armrests and joysticks that move with the seat to ensure optimal posture…”. The cab also has 10-inch user-friendly multi-function colour display allowing easy adjustment of the attachments and customisation of user preferences. The SK75SR-7 also features iNDr - Integrated Noise and Dust Reduction Cooling System. This helps reduce the machine’s noise as well as providing an additional dust barrier to ensure even better cleaning of the engine compartment and better cooling.

Kobelco will also have sister machine SK85MSR-7 on display. The SK75SR-7 is available with fixed monoboom and offset boom configurations while the SK85MSR-7 is available with swing monoboom and can also be fitted with a two-piece boom. This special two-piece configuration enables operators to work across a wide operating range while still providing smooth hydraulic operation, high performance and increased fuel efficiency and gives more digging space within the same area.

Kobelco’s Electric Power SK17 pilot machine, first unveiled at BAUMA 2019, will also be at SaMoTer. Kobelco says that the 1.7tonne excavator concept - still in development with German engine manufacturer Deutz – should be launched in Europe next year.
