1170 Sany Road Machinery is widening its product line and is also building its sales outside of China. The company is a strong player in the asphalt batching plant sector in China and is also now exporting this equipment to markets including Africa, the Middle East and parts of South East Asia. Xie Zhixia is chairman of SANY Road Machinery, one of the group’s best established divisions and said, “Our overseas sales revenue keeps growing.” And he added that around 50% of the machines the firm builds are now exported.

The asphalt paver range is of major importance to the company and particularly in the home market, with an array of units offering maximum screed widths from 4.5-16.5m. The company builds both wheeled and tracked models with both electric and gas options for screed heating. The grader line meanwhile is a strong export seller for the company, which offers machines with blade widths of 3.66, 3.96 and 4.27m, as well as both hydrostatic and mechanical drive models.

Zhixia said that the firm has just launched two new compactors for very different markets. Aimed at the asphalt paving market, the company has a new 3tonne double drum compactor. This compact unit is designed for use in small repair and maintenance jobs and is also suited to the rental market, which is growing in China. At the other end of the scale, the company has developed an innovative new 36tonne soil compactor, aimed at duties on large construction sites and for preparing airport runways. This single drum roller is said to be able to compact soil to greater depths than previous machines on the market

In addition the company has a milling machine range, with cutting widths of 1, 2 and 2.2m at present, although other models are in development at present.
