A new bridge in Ecuador will improve transport connections in the country. The opening of this new structure is of note as it is the longest bridge in Ecuador. The Bahia de Caraquez-San Vicente road bridge cost some US$102 million to construct.
The Colombian Vice President, German Vargas Lleras, has announced that two proposals have been received to build the Santana-Mocoa-Neiva motorway.
This road has a budget of US$627.22 million is one of the nine initiatives the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI) has included in the second wave of 4G motorway projects.
The two companies interested in carrying out the work are Concesionaria Vias del Desarrollo 4 and Infraestructura Vial para Colombia.

A new bridge is planned that will span the Okavango River in northern Botswana. The bridge will feature a cable-stayed structure and will be 1.2km long in all, with a 400m central section. The project also includes the construction of 3km of roads to connect the new bridge to existing road infrastructure, as well as installing necessary lighting and drainage systems. The project is expected to cost in excess of US$93 million and take three years to complete.
The UK’s Department for Transport has handed over €41 million – promised in 2022 – for a restoration of the historically listed 95-year-old Tyne Bridge in northeast England.
