8813 Image Sensing Solutions is now offering its sophisticated range of 5.1 MP, 154fps Camera Link V2.0 modules. These units feature the firm’s advanced global-shutter CMOS technology. The XCL-SG510 camera series is suited to duties in a wide range of sectors and can be used to capture high-speed moving objects in low (0.5 lx), imperfect or changing lighting conditions.

The black/white and colour modules make use of the large bandwidth available through Camera Link to provide both high frame rates and on-camera functions including wide dynamic range, frame accumulation, shading and error correction, single and multi ROI (region of interest) imaging and area gain/exposure.

These functions can be hardware and software triggered, using edge detection, pulse width detection, bulk trigger and sequential trigger modes. The XCL-SG510 module uses the Sony 2/3-type Exmor CMOS sensor with Pregius technology. According to the firm, this module is able to extract high-quality images.

The XCL-SG510 joins the XCL-CG510 5.1 MP GigE camera in the firm’s growing range of GS CMOS technologies. The b/w module has a minimum illumination of just 0.5 lx, the colour module requires just 12 lx and comes with a one-push white balance. Both have a sensitivity of F5.6, a gain of 0 to +18 dB, a shutter speed of 60s to 1/100,000s.

The C-mount modules measure 44 x 44 x 30 mm, weigh 96grammes, have an operating temperature and humidity range of -5°C to +45°C and 20% to 80%, and have high shock/vibration resistance - to 70G.

Research into driver behaviour has identified that driver safety and decision-making can be positively influenced by clearer and higher performing road markings. Patrick Smith reports. Bare roads will lead to total vehicular confusion. Markings are painted on the road to direct, guide and regulate the road user, and include all lines patterns, words and colours applied on or attached to the road surface or kerb for these purposes.

Extreme CCTV says that its Aegis UFLED White Light Illuminator features Black Diamond technology, which allows night-time colour reproduction for critical surveillance applications. Unlike standard lighting fixtures that distort colour images, this system features corrected LEDs to deliver accurate surveillance images at night according to the firm. A built-in low-voltage power circuit enables easy installation, while 26-45W operation makes for an energy efficient installation. The system also features Cons
