The new VB9-LED from Tower Light is economical, low maintainance and eco-conscious, according to the company

The lighting tower comes with a nine-metre vertical mast  tted with energy saving LED lamps, rather than traditional metal halide lights. The lamps are made from robust polycarbonate, with no glass or bulbs to replace, which TowerLight says have a high resistance to breakage and explosion.

The company claims VB9-LED use on highway projects will result in cash savings, stating that 150W of LED power yields an equivalent lighting level of 400W of metal halide. It also estimates an LED lamp can be used for up to 70,000hours, compared to the 6,000hours of a metal halide light.

Tower Light says LED lighting does not require a system of electric ballast  tted into metal halide lighting towers making it easier to repair and maintain.
