8838 Easylux says that the new generation of mini retroreflectometers has broken down the limitations imposed by the inconveniences of old technology and has been changing ways of working.

For measurements in urban roads, technicians can now move by bicycle, subway or train carrying a road marking retroreflectometer in a backpack, a practice unthinkable less than two years ago, according to the company.

Easylux says it understood how unsafe and unsuitable big and heavy instruments are for road visibility control.

Workers who undertake air travel take benefit from the use of ordinary AA batteries and the possibility of carrying their instruments as carry-on luggage, even in low-cost airlines, with a significant gain in comfort and savings. Also, increased portability revolutionised the dynamics of demonstration of new products or technical sales - areas with a strong female presence.

The patented technology of Easylux was certified by StrausZert  - German Research Association for Road Markings.

Danish company DELTA has unveiled its new LTL-M mobile retroreflectometer, which it says has taken about four years to develop. The unit, seen at the recent Traffex show in Birmingham, UK, measures all types of road markings at a simulated distance of 30m "with the highest level of accuracy." The company says that the LTL-M is to be used mounted on a vehicle measuring retroreflection at normal traffic speed providing full overview of the condition of the road markings. DELTA says the instrument operat

Europe’s political patchwork is getting a low-emission zone overlap, according to Malcolm Kent* By now, pretty much everybody in the industry will be aware of the Low Emission Zone in London, UK. But awareness of similar European zones about to start or expand might be more patchy. The background to all of these schemes is the problem of air quality, particularly European Union rules setting limits on acceptable pollution levels. It was found some years ago that several member states’ cities, including
