Philippines expressway stretch opening

A key stretch of a new expressway in the Philippines is opening shortly.

A stretch of the new expressway connecting Tarlac with La Union via Pangasinan will open shortly in the Philippines. The 11km stretch of the route should open on 15th July.

In all, the expressway connecting Tarlac with La Union will run for just over 88km. Opening this new route will reduce journey times considerably. At present driving between the two takes three hours. Once the expressway opens, the journey time will be just one hour.

    Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport is prioritising the construction of the North-South expressway project. It is seeking the approval of the Vietnamese Government approval to speed up the development of a 713km stretch of the expressway. This particular section of the expressway is phase one of the project and has an estimated construction cost of US$ 5.73 billion. Just over half of the construction cost will be paid for by private investors while Government bonds are expected to pay for the remaining sum. Thi
