Work on the Interoceanica Norte (IIRSA Norte) highway in Peru is due for completion at the end of 2010. The project is requiring a total investment of US$320 million. The IIRSA Norte links Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Amazonas, San Martin and Loreto. The work is being carried out by a consortium comprising construction firms 1305 Odebrecht Peru and 3126 Graña y Montero. Meanwhile upgrading Peru's Panamericana Sur highway is expected to cost $20 million. The work will be carried out in the district of Lurin and is intended to tackle congestion. Work is due to begin in April 2010 and is expected to last 13 months.
