A new 23km road is being built that will improve connections to Peru's port of Callao by linking the Avenida Argentina with the Panamericana Norte highway. The US$186 million project will be carried out by a Brazilian contractor, 1339 Andrade Gutierrez. Work on the new Nestor Gambetta project is getting underway and when the road is complete it will improve safety in the area and reduce congestion on existing links by carrying heavy vehicle traffic moving to and from the port.
