3343 Blythe Construction is working on a major interchange project close to the US city of Charlotte in North Carolina. The work involves upgrading the US29/NC49 highway interchange in a bid to boost traffic flow and improve safety standards and also includes building an 8km bypass. Construction work is due to commence in July of this year and scheduled to continue until December 2014. In all the project calls for 2.6 million m3 of fill grading and compaction work and the erection of 17 bridges and five culverts. This will involve an estimated 375,000m2 of concrete paving and 225,00m2 of asphalt paving.
