New Indonesian toll roads

A key new road project is being planned in Indonesia.

A key new road project is being planned in Indonesia. The project is for a 39km toll road linking Pemalang with Batang and construction work is expected to commence in mid 2012. The finance structure for the Pemalang-Batang toll road project is still being established however. In addition to this project Indonesia;s Toll Road Authority is planning the 25km Cimanngis-Cibitung toll road and 57.5km Pejagan-Pemalang toll roads at present.

    Plans are in hand in Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar for a series of road and bridge projects that will improve the city’s connectivity with the rest of the country. Included in the planned works are works to build five new bridges, 139km of roads and widen 150km of roads. The transport plan will run until the end of 2013.   • Project building new Biobio bridge in Chile on track

    Construction work on the fourth bridge spanning Chile’s Biobio Bridge is proceeding on schedule. The project site is located in Chile’s Gran Concepcion area. Construction could commence in 2016, with completion expected in 2018. Environmental studies have yet to be completed however. The work will be carried out as part of a concession package and the bridge is expected to cost some US$214 million to construct, carrying two lanes for vehicle traffic as well as claiming pedestrian and cycling connectivity.
