A key highway upgrade will improve links between Chinese capital Beijing and Tibet.

A key highway upgrade will improve links between Chinese capital Beijing and Tibet. A 217km stretch of the Beijing-Hohhot expressway will be upgraded and improved in a bid to reduce traffic congestion. The Beijing-Hohhot expressway features three lanes running in either direction and forms is part of the Beijing-Xinjiang Expressway.

Dynamic tolling, able to adjust toll pricing to demand, will operate in the peak travel direction during weekday rush hours.
