253 Iteris has introduced the iPerform information management solution that utilises all available data resources to provide effective performance analysis and prediction. The software can fuse information from a full spectrum of sources including roadway sensors as well as weather and other traffic related data. Moreover, Iteris says it provides this valuable information for not only freeways, but for arterials and multi-modal forms of transportation as well.

"With the increased emphasis on accountability in transportation infrastructure expenditures, the 2364 US Department of Transportation as well as state DOT's are expected to use performance measures as a funding gate for agencies," said Iteris president and CEO, Abbas Mohaddes. "In light of the legislation mandating real-time interstate traffic programs by 2013 and metro area routes by 2016, we believe iPerform offers a powerful solution to improve an agency's oversight and transportation network capabilities."

Traffic managers can not only assess trends and better understand the costs associated with operating their transportation network, but iPerform can allow them to identify poorly performing roadway segments and focus on the areas where the most significant improvements can be achieved. The reporting system built into iPerform enables the comparison of alternative actions and can quantify the results of both near-term and long-term investment strategies.

"Over the past decade, the amount of measurement data available for traffic management has exploded," added Mohaddes. "iPerform is the first solution to effectively use that data to provide operational managers the information they require to meet the demanding challenges they face on a daily basis.”
