Major investments in Croatia’s tolled highway network are being seen during 2011. The Croatian Association of Toll Motorways Concessionaires (3035 HUKA) has revealed that investments in highways will reach €413.51 million, an increase of 23% compared to 2010. Some €352.5 million will be invested in new highways, an increase of 20.4% compared to 2010. Meanwhile, €63.45 million will be invested in existing highways, an increase of 39.5%. In 2010, investments totalled €290.1 million. Rijeka-Zagreb Motorway (ARZ) and Bina Istra invested €39.44 million and €132.6 million, respectively.

  • Croatia bridge project underway again

    Construction work is underway once more for Croatia’s Peljesac Bridge project. The 2.4km bridge is being built by Chinese contractor China Road and Bridge Corporation. The structure should be complete in 2021 and is expected to cost €420 million, of which €357 million is being provided by the European Community.     Construction work is now going ahead on the Suhodol-Tarcin section of Bosnia’s Corridor Vc highway. The Bosnian Government and highway company Autoceste FBiH Mostar signed a contract with Turkish company Cengiz Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret for this section of the Corridor Vc highway.
