Indonesian toll road deals

The Indonesian Government is helping fast-track work on several key toll road projects in the country.

The 1065 Indonesian Government is helping fast-track work on several key toll road projects in the country. The seven toll road projects are worth a total of US$1.91 billion and the Indonesian Government is paying particular attention to land clearance.

The heads of private toll road construction firms and the head of the Indonesia Toll Road Authority signed the amendment of toll road operation agreement for seven toll road projects. The roads extend for a total of nearly 139km.

The seven projects include six being developed by 1083 Jasa Marga such as the Cengkareng-Batu Ceper-Kunciran tolled link, the Surabaya-Mojokerto road and the Antasari-Depok toll road project by Citra Waspphutowa and Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada.

    The Toll Road Regulator Agency (TRRA) for Indonesia plans to seal the concession agreement for six Jakarta city toll roads in December 2012, three months later than expected. TRRA officers are said to be studying the proposal documents submitted by Jakarta Tollroad Development. The investment for the project has increased from US$4.21 billion (IDR 40trn) to between IDR42trn-IDR43trn, according to TRRA head, Achmad Gani Gazaly.

  • Multi-million dollar investment in Indonesian road toll projects

    Millions of US dollars are being poured into new and expanding toll road projects in Indonesia. Wijaya Karya (Wika), the Indonesian government-owned construction service provider, will build toll roads linking Kedung Badak to Kedung Halang and Pandaan to Gempol in Bogor through two contracts worth US$36.35million (IDR 340.80bn) and US$23.98million (IDR 225bn), respectively. Awarded by highways operator Jasa Marga (JSMR), the contracts require the roads completion in 18 months.

    State-owned Indonesian toll road firm Jasa Marga plans to increase its network by 460km by 2018. This will bring its total network to 1,050km by 2018. During 2016, Jasa Marga intends to spend US1 billion developing its toll road network and general operations. By 2018, the Trans Java toll road should be open to traffic.
