Indonesian project on track

Plans are now well on track for Indonesia’s new Medan-Kualanamu toll road project.

Plans are now well on track for Indonesia’s new Medan-Kualanamu toll road project. The road is expected to cost US$203 million and the land acquisition process required for the project is already 40% completed. Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works intends for work on the project to commence shortly.

    Indonesia is planning to construct more tolled highways as well as bridges. One novel proposal is for a new tolled road that will run along the sea dike protecting the Jakarta Coast.     The pre-feasibility study for a US$400 million bridge project in Indonesia has been delayed. The East Nusa Tenggara bridge project is planned to include an innovative tidal power generation system. The study was due to commence in December 2016 but now looks likely to be held back.
