Indonesian project on track

Plans are now well on track for Indonesia’s new Medan-Kualanamu toll road project.

Plans are now well on track for Indonesia’s new Medan-Kualanamu toll road project. The road is expected to cost US$203 million and the land acquisition process required for the project is already 40% completed. Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works intends for work on the project to commence shortly.

    The Indonesian government is said to have approved the construction of a bridge to connect Balikpapan and Penajam Paser Utara. The official approval for the US$437.47million (IDR 5 trillion) works was disclosed by Djoko Murjanto from Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works. Construction firm Waskita Karya and the East Kalimantan provincial government are expected to play key roles in the delivery of the project.

  • Project building new Biobio bridge in Chile on track

    Construction work on the fourth bridge spanning Chile’s Biobio Bridge is proceeding on schedule. The project site is located in Chile’s Gran Concepcion area. Construction could commence in 2016, with completion expected in 2018. Environmental studies have yet to be completed however. The work will be carried out as part of a concession package and the bridge is expected to cost some US$214 million to construct, carrying two lanes for vehicle traffic as well as claiming pedestrian and cycling connectivity.   • Work underway on Indonesia’s Trans Papua highway

    Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing plans to allocate US$415.3 million in 2016 for the Trans Papua road project. The Indonesian Government’s plan is for the link to be ready for use and connecting the whole of Papua by 2019. However in excess of $830 million is required to fund work on the entire 4,325km route.
