Highway upgrade for Jaipur in India

A new highway deal looks set to improve connections to the Indian city of Jaipur.

A new highway deal looks set to improve connections to the Indian city of Jaipur. The US$213 million contract package is for maintenance and improvements to the tolled Jaipur highway. A 47km section of the highway will be upgraded and widened to six lanes, while two new toll booths will be constructed and the concession package will be for a 28 year period.

    A US$452 million highway upgrade project will be carried out in India by the contractor, Ashoka Mallasandra Karadi Road. This firm is a subsidiary of Indian company Dilip Buildcon. The work involves upgrading a section of the existing NH206 route and widening it so that it features two lanes in either direction. The highway stretch being worked on is from Shivamogga to Tumkur. The contract was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

  • PPP for Ecuador highway project

    A 162km stretch of Ecuador’s highway route 40 is to be upgraded, improving the road’s safety and capacity. The section of highway being improved includes the stretch that links the town of Santa Elena, which lies on the Pacific Coast, with the city of Guayaquil, on the Guayas River. The contract now includes work to 30km more of the highway than was originally planned. The contractor Verdu is to carry out the PPP deal, which is expected to be worth US$231 million over the 20-year concession period.
