Haast-Hollyford, NZ toll road to provide 1,500 construction jobs

The US$197.79 million (NZD 230 million) Haast-Hollyford toll road in New Zealand is expected to provide 1,500 construction jobs over four years, increase West Coast tourism and cut travel time between Haast and Milford Sound. Extra funding for the toll road has been made available. The toll fee will begin at $30.26 (NZD 35) per traveller and will generate $25.93 million (NZD 30 million) in the first year.

    A new tolled bridge link is planned for Indonesia’s East Kalimantan. The tender process is opening for the North Penajam Paser-Balikpapan toll bridge project. Building the bridge is expected to cost in the order of US$1.02 billion. The structure and the road connections needed will be around 7.35km long. Building the bridge will cut journey times between Balikpapan and North Panajam from as much as 120 minutes at present to just 10 minutes when the structure is complete.
