FSTech awarded TxDoT back office operations contract

Federal Signal Technologies (FSTech) has been awarded a three-year back office system and operations contract by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDoT).

2771 Federal Signal Technologies (FSTech) has been awarded a three-year back office system and operations contract by the 3499 Texas Department of Transportation (TxDoT). The contract, which is valued at US$68 million, also provides for two three-year extensions. FSTech's major sub-contractors are Faneuil and Municipal Services Bureau (MSB).The contract primarily involves three busy TxDoT tollroads in the Austin area. Interoperability with the separate Dallas and Houston area toll systems, plus outlying TxDoT tollroads are also covered by the work."We have partnered with two of the best companies in the business to provide a comprehensive suite of services to TxDoT," commented Manfred Rietsch, president of FSTech. MSB's Toll Division will be providing customer service and TxTag management, while Faneuil will be providing plaza and road operations support."We are pleased at the confidence the Texas Department of Transportation has shown in awarding FSTech this important contract. One of our business lines, VESystems, developed and installed the current back office system in 2006. This contract includes a major upgrade to this system," added Rietsch.
