Four lane highways for India

A new four lane highway is being built under a design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) basis in India's Jammu & Kashmir state.

A new four lane highway is being built under a design, build, finance and operate (DBFO) basis in India's Jammu & Kashmir state. This US$562 million project has been awarded by the 292 National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The contract itself is now being worked on by IL&FS Transportation Networks (IL&FS), which submitted the lowest bid. Meanwhile 3152 Gayatri Projects is working on a $491 million contract on the Hyderabad-Karimnagar-Ramagundam road project. This link will be developed under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis and the concession is for a 25 year period. The highway will be tolled with two lanes running in either direction and the project is being developed under a PPP model. The construction work is due for completion in 30 months now that the contract has been awarded by the Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation (3154 APRDC).

A new 127km highway will connect Lucknow with Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
