E&E Congress 2020 in Madrid: book now for early bird savings

Between 850 and 1,000 attendees are expected for the three-day knowledge, innovation and networking event – the 7th Eurasphalt & Eurobitume Congress – in Madrid’s prestigious Palacio Municipal de Congresos May 12-14.

The Palacio - in the Campo de las Naciones business centre - is a modern light-filled building only five minutes from the airport. The 40,000m² palace has an auditorium with a patio for up to 995 seats and an amphitheatre for 914 people. It has hosted many notable international events, such as those for the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank as well as summits for the European Union, NATO and the United Nations, to name a few.

The E&E Congress 2020, organised by the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) and Eurobitume, has the overall theme Asphalt 4.0 for Future Mobility. Future mobility scenarios being developed now will clearly have impacts on our road infrastructure in the future.

Traditional ways of travel will change and the use of automated and guided vehicles will have a greater effect on road requirements. The current recognised industrial change 4.0 – often referred to as “smart” industry – will have a much wider impact and influence on road networks as we move further into the 21st century.

With more than 90% of the European road infrastructure represented by asphalt materials, the asphalt and bitumen sectors need to accommodate future mobility solutions either for maintenance or construction. The continued integration of digitalisation into industry practices, the need to create better connectivity and data exchange platforms and the general ambition to offer sustainable solutions will all play key roles.

The provisional timetable is available now. Two non-technical sessions – first day Communication Workshop and Last day Future Leaders session - aim at interacting current industry leaders with those of our future. There is also a event dinner on the evening of the first night, Tuesday the 12th. The event registration form includes an option to book accommodation at a number of selected hotels close to the congress venue and also within Madrid city centre.
