Dufferin Construction has won a US$66.1 million contract for construction of a portion of controlled-access Bradford Bypass freeway in the Canadian province of Ontario.

The 16km four-lane highway - also known as the Highway 400–404 Link - will connect freeways Highway 400 and Highway 404 through the towns of Bradford and East Gwillimbury.

Dufferin’s work includes the construction of a southbound lane on Highway 400 that will merge with the yet-to-built Bradford Bypass, the expansion of Simcoe County Road 88 from two lanes to four, renovation of Highway 400-Simcoe County Road 88 interchange and an underpass bridge.

Dufferin recently started work and will also complete basic works for future expansion of Highway 400 platform to 10 lanes.

The Ontario government recently awarded the US$11.6 million contract to AECOM for detailed design of the 6.5km west section of the Bradford Bypass from Highway 400 to Simcoe County Road 4.
