Tomorrow is the deadline for submitting abstracts to the European Transport Conference (ETC) 2014.

The ETC connects the worlds of research, consultancy, policy and practice. Attendance at ETC allows different groups to pose questions to fellow professionals and to assess what is possible in terms of delivery. Researchers are challenged by policy-makers; practitioners need to deliver on the ground what the policy-makers want.

The Association for European Transport has identified for the 2014 Conference some major themes of interest to all working in transport planning. These topics will make up the headline themes of the event taking place 29 September-1 October 2014 at Goethe University, Campus Westend, Frankfurt, Germany.

The headline topics are Big Data, Investment in Transport Infrastructure, Cycle Infrastructure and Cycle Safety – cycle superhighways, urban areas, longer distances, ‘Traffic in Towns’ - Managing traffic in urban areas and town centres, Resilience to the effects of changes in the climate, and Assessment of techniques for the appraisal of major projects

The Programme Committees have also produced their own Calls for Papers which highlight specific areas of interest to be included in the seminar programme.

Those wishing to present their paper at ETC 2014 should submit an abstract by Wednesday 5 February 2014.

The majority of papers presented at the European Transport Conference are selected by Programme Committees from the abstracts submitted on-line. The themes for the conference and the final programme are coordinated by the chairs of the Programme Committees and representatives of the Association.

The Call for Papers general brochure and the individual calls for papers produced by the Programme Committees can also be downloaded from the ETC website.

To submit an abstract, authors must be a registered user on the site (to be a registered user on this site, it is not necessary to be an AET member).
